ABOUT SPAIN

When you buy a property in southern Spain you get so much more than bricks and mortar. The Spanish lifestyle is second to none, and whether you intend to spend a few weeks or most of the year here, we are sure you'll fall in love with this fantastic place we call home. So many of our clients start off by buying a property here to use as a holiday home, and then find themselves spending more and more time here.

After all, this is the place where the sun shines for 325 days a year.

Spanish residents are among the
healthiest and fittest in Europe

Here you can stroll along a golden beach, take in breathtaking mountain scenery, go on a shopping spree and dine under the stars or even skiing – all in the same day. And this is not something which is limited to a specific time of the year. Every season has its own charm and attraction, ad there are various activities available all year.

As for the food, well if you've ever visited Spain you'll know it's fantastic. It's also healthy and this, along with the fabulous climate, abundance of outdoor activities and efficient healthcare system, makes Spanish residents among the healthiest and fittest in Europe.

The activities available on the Costa del Sol are bewildering. Beach life is of course a huge draw with some of the cleanest stretches of coast anywhere in Europe, often being awarded the European Blue Flag of merit. Along with that, comes the restaurants, bars and clubs for those who like to party into the night.

For sporty individuals there’s waterskiing, yacht trips, adventure parks, tennis, quad-biking and even skiing (yes, skiing is just a two hour drive away in the Sierra Nevada mountains). And of course Golf. It’s no co-incidence that the Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf, with some of the world’s premier championships having being held here over the years, including the 1997 Ryder Cup, the World Golf Championships in 2000, and the Volvo Masters in 2005.

Meanwhile those of you who relish a shopping expedition will be more than satisfied at the choice of modern indoor centres or smaller designer boutiques. Southern Spain also boasts several cinema complexes, ten-pin bowling, aqua parks, a modern efficient health service, and top quality international schools.

In short, the Costa del Sol is for people who like to live life to the full and enjoy the best things it can offer. Or of course, you can just ignore all that, sit back, relax and take in nothing more than peace and quiet surrounded by nature, within the numerous protected wildlife parks that epitomise inland Andalucia.

COMMUNICATIONS

Flying to southern Spain has never been easier, with several low-cost airlines from across northern Europe competing for business to Malaga International Airport. The airport itself is currently being expanded to cope with the demand, whilst the upgraded motorway network now provides a fast efficient connection to any area along the coast.

The development of a new high speed rail link between Malaga and Madrid, along with widespread internet access are just two more reasons why communication networks in southern Spain are now better than ever.

TRADITION

Stunning mountain views, lakes, countryside and traditional living just ten minutes drive inland from anywhere on the coast. Picturesque white-washed villages with their cobbled streets, tiny churches, market squares and typically friendly Spanish welcome, all await the enquiring traveller. This is often a surprise to visitors who may only get a glimpse of the Costa del Sol from its coastal attractions.

From the rolling hills of Granada to the imposing rock of Gibraltar, southern Spain bears the legacy of centuries of culture from civilisations as diverse as the Romans and the Moors, all waiting to be explored...
